The managers are very nice, helpful and watchful. I have been using Golden State Storage for 10 years and have never had a problem. It's close access to the 405 freeway is a plus!

I started renting at this storage 7 months ago.
It's been a lot better in the last three months since the new managers, there use to be alot of homeless people on the property, and it would scare me. They would spend all day at their units. I noticed the managers painted and cleaned up the property recenty, and now i feel alot better about going to my unit. I appreciate the effort the managers are putting in to clean this place up, and provide us with environment we as customers can feel safe in.

I've been storing at Golden State Storage on Roscoe & the 405 freeway, for three years now, and I used to have a homeless person storing right next to me. Every time I would go to my storage unit the homeless person would watch what I put in my unit or take out of my unit, quite frankly he knew what I had in my storage better than I did. He would live in his unit, and played loud music which annoyed me...the worst part was his dog... I was afraid of getting bit so I felt uncomfortable going to my storage unit. I would see people blocking the roads, working out of their units, which made it difficult for me to get in and out. I'm happy with the new managers, they have cleaned up the property, and made it safer & more secure ,..... Not to mention all the improvements going on. They are fixing-up! and painting the whole place.
If you need a good no nonsense storage, I would recommend this storage.

The facility is fine, although the on site employees did lock the gate on my boyfriend and the uhaul. They never even showed their face to say "hey, first day at the storage facility guy, we close at (too early) time and we have to lock the gate", they just locked him in and wouldn't let him out until I showed up and honked my horn for ten minutes straight and called 911.
Anyhow, if you're exiting the 405 or coming west down Roscoe you're cool, but if you're coming east on Roscoe, you can't turn into the driveway without risking your life trying to make an illegal lefthand turn. You gotta go waaay around from the west.

OK, LMAO with all the 5 Stars...COME ON...With a staff that lies and a so called Manager that is never there In my opinion this place is a JOKE! I buy storage units that are auctioned off and was bidding on one. When I called with questions why Items were being removed (SHE) you know how you are STAFF...Asked if I was the owner, MAKES YOU WONDER. I wouldn't let her know so SHE hung up on me. So later I seen the auction was cancelled and the re-posted with 1 Item missing and new VERBIAGE. So The next day I was bidding on it again and later it was taken off again now just think the Items removed and written not part of the auction are a Honda CBR...And A Suzuki looks like GSX which are both Motorcycles could someone be making extra $$$$$$ on the side and how many auctioned units does this staff go through prior to the Auctions???? Now getting home and seeing the auction was removed again I thought I should call them as anyone would do and got the same person saying that a person NAMED Kathy is not in again and asked if I'm the owner and then said maybe it's a coincidence because of my phone call yesterday. SO YOU'RE REALLY GOING WITH THE 5 STAR B.S???????????????? IN MY OPINION THIS IS A VERY CROOKED PLACE. Next the BBB, Google Reviews and more. Now remember I said this is my opinion. It should be NO STARS. This Staff should all be FIRED. Thanks for reading my opinion

I have been at this place about 3 years. Last month I called to make my payment and wanted to pay with a particular credit card, which I would be getting in the mail.
The guy I spoke to advised me that I had until June 7th to pay without a late fee. I called on June 6th to make the payment and the same guy told me a late fee had been added to the payment. I reminded him that he had told me I had until the 7th to pay without a late fee me. He told me he was sorry he had made that mistake, but there was nothing he could do about it. I asked him the phone number for the corporate headquarters and he told me he didn't know it. I have called what I believe the number is to the headquarters, and they never answer, and they have not called me back to deal with my issue. I will try calling again and will report, will a review, how that works out.

I have been a customer of Golden State storage for about 8 years over 5 of those years here at the Roscoe facility. If you look at my Yelp review I have never had a bad thing to say. Paul and Susan the long time managers just retired (WELL DESERVED) were THE BEST. I saw the new male manager today. I arrived at 7:15 to get some things out that I need for today's work. I saw the office door was wide open so I walked up to the door NOT INSIDE simply to welcome the new manager. No sooner did I get near the door he stands up from behind the counter with a very unfriendly look on his face, and begins to scold me. "Get away from my door, get out of my doorway" he says. I ask are you the new manager? He says "Yes, ok get away from my door. We are going to run a storage facility here not a hotel, motel, or Holiday Inn". This is my first meeting with this man and he wants to start off disrespectfully communicating. WOW. I am a very respectable 59 year old veteran and I must say this was TERRIBLE business. Just yesterday I sent flowers to the office welcoming him before I ever met him. I understand that new manager means some changes, but there is NO REASON to come at a PAYING CUSTOMER OF OVER 5 YEARS that way. Unfortunately I just paid my rent IN ADVANCE so when that is used up I will be leaving. I was told that there was even a note left for them stating that I was a very good tenant. I am completely blown away by the immediate disrespect of someone who doesn't even know me. By the way I am ALWAYS picking up trash from around the property that isn't mine, I have a blower which I use to blow my aisle clean everytime I am here. Why do I do this, because I AM A RESPECTFUL INDIVIDUAL.
I have rented multiple units for most of my time here. In my opinion this managerial change is a FAIL.
UPDATE AFTER READING RESPONSE...
Unfortunately that GOOD WILL took years of respect and PROFESSIONALISM from Paul & Susan to acquire. This new individual was able to destroy that in 30 seconds. He is responsible for creating his own good will. Not feeding off of the hard work and respect of others. With the area he is in this attitude will probably cause problems for your business. I have helped the poor and homeless in this community for 7 years. So I understand and care about their mindset and well being. I really do hope this man chills out a little bit. I personally know of 3 tenants planning on leaving because of him. Hasn't even moved in yet and he is costing your customers to leave. For goodness sake the young lady sits in the office and has full on arguments with herself. Yelling with no one around. It appears that you have chosen a couple of mentally unstable people to run this facility. Everything I say is 100% true. I truly do wish you the best. May the Good Lord look over this facility and it's customers.

Lets be clear and honest about my renting experience. It was easy to get started however lease execution was unfair and discriminatory They are not here to serve your storage needs!
Reserved a 5X15 online for an immediate move in; the online reservation process was quick and straight forward. Staff is responsive; I got an immediate email response.
Was planning to store holiday decorations bins, personal files that have been lingering in my home for far to long, painting supplies, a and some other small tools like a ladder and tool box.
I called store to see exactly what I needed to execute my month to month agreement; I spoke with the assistant manager at the facility, shes asked what I planned storing; after I responding, she cut me off and asked to call me back because a customer was at her desk. She returned my call 5 minutes later and per her manager because denied storage unit due too the manager not wanting to rent to someone storing tools. Per the assistant they only rent to people storing furniture.
Ive lived in the surrounding area 20 years and was referred to this facility by someone currently renting there. That said person is a long term renter, has been there many years and is indeed storing tools and supplies as I sought to.
Im very disappointed in Golden State Storagess Business Practices and believe they are purposely turning down great customersrs because the feel like it.
Dont rent with them, Ill be renting with A1 Self Storage Instead, they have longer access hours (6 am to 10pm) everyday and welcome whatever your storage need are!
