Boise, ID RV and Boat Storage

In today’s high tech, fast paced society, we all crave a vacation in the woods every now and then.  The best way to do this is to pack our bags, load up our RVs, and hit the road.  Boise is the capital of Idaho, and also its most populated city, which makes it a little hard to keep your RV or boat out on the street in front of your home.  As much as you love your RV, we know it’s not the only thing you want to see when you look out your window.  Consider putting it in self storage to keep it safe and out of your way.

Protecting Your Investment

Purchasing an RV or boat is no easy feat.  When you put so much into something like that, you should consider putting it in a self storage unit where you know it’ll be safe and secure at all times.  When your RV is parked in your neighborhood, it is susceptible to damage from the elements, being hit by a car, being stolen, and a number of other things.  Most storage facilities now have 24 surveillance cameras, extremely well lit facilities, locked gates around the grounds so that only tenants or employees can enter, and some even have managers that live on site or guards that patrol the facility.  If you want to take even more security precautions, you can also talk to a facility manager about units with alarm systems.  It’s not something that’s very common, but it’s definitely out there.  Consider some of these things when finding a place to store your vehicles, because with the high chance of damage to your property, rent for a storage unit is just a fraction of the cost you would spend on either replacing (yikes!) or repairing damage to your RV or boat.  Boise has an average of 4,511 average annual property crimes, so you don’t want to be the one adding to that number.

Location, Location, Location!

It doesn’t make sense to keep a boat in the heart of Boise; there’s not much you can do with it in the city.  Boise has some great RV parks, one of which is the Boise Riverside RV Park.  You can come to this park for an awesome getaway to enjoy Idaho’s nature, and it’s conveniently located on the Boise River so you can bring your boat too!  Instead of having to drive your RV through the city, sitting through all of that traffic, and spending insane amounts of money on gas for the long trip, why not store the vehicles at a storage facility located close to an RV park?  If you’re a fan of the Boise Riverside RV Park, or just like to go for a spin on your boat on the river, you should consider storing your things at Boise Lockaway Storage, which is only 1.4 miles away from the park.  This facility specializes in storing boats, RVs, and cars.

You might also want to consider finding a facility that allows for 24-hour access to your storage unit, especially if you’re a fan of fishing.  You don't want to show up to your storage facility at the crack of dawn to get your boat only to find out that they don’t open for another three hours.  It’s hard enough to plan a vacation with our busy lifestyles as it is, so you don’t want to have to miss out on a day of fishing for something you can plan around.

Leasing Options

Leases can be very tricky, and it’s hard to find something flexible enough for your needs, especially when you’re storing a seasonal item.  Peak RV and boat season is May through September, so you want to be able to lease a storage unit for months that don’t fall into that time period.  Storage facilities understand your needs, so most of them offer month-to-month leasing options.  This way you’re not forced to sign something long term and you still get the benefits of storing your vehicles.
