When I became a customer at CSS I was happy to rent there. I can't say that today. Too many price increases for me ! I started out with one 10x20 8 yrs ago. It was $42.00 a month. Now I have three 10x20 units and I pay over $300.00 a month. I will be leaving this facility for the last time.....soon.

After moving into this facility the rent doubled. My bank changed my Credit card number for the auto pay thank goodness I caught it in time... NOPE. They charged a late fee anyway. No help from them to reconcile and I am 2200 miles away. My belongings are stuck there and maybe sometime soon I can get there to move my stuff out! Stay far away from this place.

My experience here from the beginning has been horrible. I reserve a unit online, and it says I can pay at the center. I try and it doesnt work. I have my year and a half old in the car while I'm on the phone for an hour trying to figure out how I can pay since your systems were down. I finally get in and the unit they had given me was taken. So I spend another 45 minutes on the phone getting a new one. The man on the phone said I can pick any unit. I clarified I was supposed to get the same size. I picked the 1st one I saw with no lock on the storage he told me. I verified with him that it was the correct size and he assured me it was. I told him the unit number and disconnected the call. I then get a call asking what unit number we chose. I tell them. I then get another call, which at this time, when I returned the call, I was rude. I admit it, and apologized for it. I was so tired of the level of difficulty the entire process was. We figure it out and I go to my unit later and find a new lock on it. I go to the office and am told they get again didn't know what unit was ours, and they cut off the lock on our unit because she didn't know who's unit that was. We told her we were going camping for 5 days and we would move our stuff after. She said we didn't have to pay this month. On our way out we had to stop at the unit to grab something. We got locked in saying we had to pay. I was on the phone with someone on the emergency phone number I saw on the gate. She didn't know what was going on and someone was leaving so I tailgated them and left. I got back to the message saying we now owe a late fee, so I call the number who emails the district manager at my request because I want this horrendous experience noted, but instead he has the manager of the place call me. I got them to waive the late fee but took 0 responsibility. It was everyone elses fault I have never experienced such incompetence with a business. Ever.

Do not rent from Central Self Storage in Star Idaho. I haven't been there long and they have already raised the rent. They are now fighting me over a late fee sighting I was several minutes late after midnight. What happened to CUSTOMER SERVICE?! At this rate, they will have zero customers renting from them. There's plenty of other storage companies, I would advise going somewhere else where they actually respect the customer and are not so MONEY HUNGER and RUDE..

I've never even USED Central Self Storage but after hearing my cousin's story I decided to warn people about them. They falsely advertised climate-controlled storage units, which ultimately led to her ENTIRE vinyl collection getting warped. Along with this, they FALSIFIED information about having security cameras on the aisle of her storage unit, but they in fact didn't-- leading to various valuables being stolen from their storage unit. The company made no attempt to make amends and has been nothing but deceitful and unhelpful. If I could give 0 stars I would. So sad on my cousin's behalf!!
